I stayed at Te Nikau Retreat for 4 nights and didn't want to leave. The cosy Koru cabin was perfect for me, with a comfortable bed and good wifi. The owners James and Jenny were incredibly friendly and helpful. The main house, just a few steps away, had a fully equipped kitchen and a lovely shared lounge with a cozy fire. They even had a little shop for snacks and homemade bread daily. Such a beautiful and unique accommodation!
Would recommend this hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at a charming retreat nestled in the stunning rainforest. The cabins were cute and well-maintained, perfect for budget travelers like us. The reception lady was very friendly and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Despite being remote, the wifi connection was surprisingly good. Being close to the beach and surrounded by native bush added to the natural beauty of the location. we had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again.
The only drawback was the cleanliness of the toilet area, with some spider webs and spiders present. Additionally, the retreat was a bit far from the town center.

We had a wonderful stay at Te Nikau Retreat! The room was lovely, and we appreciated the warm fireplace upon arrival. The check-in staff were kind and efficient, and we even received a free upgrade to an ensuite room. The mezzanine layout was great, and the roaring fire kept us cozy. The setting was beautiful, with stunning views from the lodge windows and easy access to the ocean.
We recommend this hotel.

Our family had a fantastic time on the wild Coast. the location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach and the famous pancake rocks. We stayed in a cozy room with a fully equipped kitchen and a view of the sea from the balcony. the staff were helpful and had a great sense of humor.
The thief who stole our wine in the shared area. It would be better to have fridges in the room or CCTV to prevent such incidents.

This place is a hidden gem in nature, perfect for budget travelers. the location is fantastic, surrounded by lush forests and away from other units. the kitchen is well-equipped and the balcony is just a short distance from the surrounding forest. the retreat offers a complete escape from technology with no TV but still provides WiFi. You can enjoy an adventurous walk to the beach, although swimming is not allowed, and explore the nearby blowholes and pancake rocks.

The location of this retreat was amazing, nestled deep within a beautiful rainforest. It was just a short walk to a breathtaking beach, perfect for exploring and enjoying the natural beauty. The accommodation itself was well-appointed and comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. the staff were friendly and helpful, providing assistance during a storm that occurred during our stay.
There were a couple of drawbacks to our experience. there were no keys provided for the bedrooms, which made us feel a bit uneasy about leaving our belongings without any security.

Beautiful location surrounded by nature, close to a stunning beach. Cozy and comfortable accommodation, with clean and spacious rooms. Friendly and helpful staff who made sure we felt welcome. The option to prepare our own food and buy essentials at a reasonable price was convenient.
Limited bathroom facilities, with a single room for toilet, sink, and shower, which could be inconvenient when the place is fully booked. The shower lacked water pressure and was too hot.
